The topic of black and ethnic groups serving within the British military has always been a sensitive subject.
The creative team, supported by the Executive Creative Directors at Publicis London have chosen to bring to the fore the way in which over the last century these brave men and women have been singled out within the services. Not in a negative or prejudicial manner, but in the way in which they have been recognised for their valour and gallantry. The story starts with that of William Hall, who from the age of 17 served with the Royal Navy, and in 1857 was awarded Britain’s highest award for gallantry, the Victoria Cross and continues right through to the story of Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry who was awarded the Victoria Cross in 2005 for Valour whilst serving in Iraq.
True to the topic this whole job was executed over a 12 hour period with military precision. From Photography into retouching, through to final delivery.
