Two Grandads in one week
Congratulations & Doobydations are already in order this year.
2012 has got off to a great start for the family's of Jack Jackson and Jeff Macfarlane.
Both have become Grandfathers this January. Baby Isobel, (Jeff's first Grandchild) and baby Kaydn, (Jacks second grandson) both came along within days of one another in the same week in January.
Both mothers and babies are doing well and keeping cosy indoors out of the snow.
Derek & Elaine go Palace to Palace
The training was finally completed, the bikes all checked and ready to go - even the rain stayed away.... so there was absolutely no excuse, but to get on and do it!!!
Derek and I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored us for The Palace to Palace cycle which took place yesterday. We are both humbled and proud that we managed to raise over £1100, which is fantastic.
With all your support, we kept up a good pace and managed to complete the 45 mile course in 3 hours and 58 minutes!!! Over 3000 participants took part yesterday, so we are delighted to say that we managed to finish 862nd and 863rd!
Here we are proudly showing off our medals and if you look closely you can see the finish line and Windsor castle in the background!!!
Thank you all very much. The money has gone to a very good cause - The Prince's Trust, helping young people by, running programmes that encourage them to take responsibility for themselves, helping them build the life they choose rather than the one they've ended up with.
Think we will take a couple of days now to see how we feel before we sign up for next year!
